Fit-to-Fly & Return Coordination

Fit-to-Fly & Return Coordination

Flying after cardiac surgery requires careful medical planning. At VNR Medical Service, we take the guesswork out of your return journey. We don’t just send you to the airport; we ensure that your heart is stable, your documentation is in order, and the airline is informed of your medical status.

Ensuring Your Safety from the Hospital Gate to Your Front Door

Our Fit-to-Fly protocol is a rigorous clinical check-up conducted by Dr. Sanjeeth Peter and his team. We provide the necessary certifications that international airlines require for post-operative patients, ensuring that your transition back to Malaysia is as smooth and comfortable as your arrival.

FAQ’s about Fit-to-Fly Coordination

Q1. When am I usually "Fit-to-Fly" after surgery?
For most CABG or Valve patients, this is typically 10–14 days after the procedure, depending on individual recovery speed.
Q2. Do airlines require special documents after heart surgery?
Yes. Most airlines require a Medical Information Form (MEDIF) signed by the operating surgeon. VNR manages this entire process for you.
Q3. Can I fly in Economy class?
While we recommend Business Class for the extra legroom and recline, many patients fly Economy safely once they have their "Fit-to-Fly" clearance.
Q4. What happens if I am not cleared to fly on my scheduled date?
VNR will assist in rescheduling your flight and extending your recovery stay at Boulevard 9 until you meet the safety benchmarks.
Q5. Will I need a wheelchair at the airport?
We highly recommend and arrange for wheelchair assistance at both the Indian and Malaysian airports to avoid physical exertion.
Q6. Do you provide a report for my doctor in Malaysia?
Yes. You will receive a complete "International Patient Discharge Summary" that includes all surgical notes, lab results, and future care instructions.
